ANTIQUE CARVED CAMEO PIN
Gorgeous antique hand carved cameo shell pin measuring about 1-1/2″ tall by 1-3/16″ wide. Featuring a beautifully detailed silhouette bust of a woman wearing a ribbon band and flowers in her upswept hair, flowers accent the shoulder of her draped gown gown as well. Mounted into a gold plated over sterling (I think) filigree frame with tiny Forget-Me-Not flower accents, the cameo is beautifully executed by someone with skill – this is a hard medium to carve – the detail is lovely. Complete with original bar pin and roller locking closure, it also is fitted with a tiny pin mount ring which swings down when not being used as a pendant.
Condition is lovely with no damage of any kind other than light usage wear — the cameo is semi-translucent when held to the light. Just a beautiful antique piece – guessing it dates to the turn of last century – wonderful addition to any collection!
